When you are the one being introduced, the only words you need to say are “How-do-you-do.”
It’s the job of the person who is doing the introducing to bring you into the conversation.
Remember men, if you’re seated, always stand when being introduced to women, of any age.
The proper handshake:
Smile. Look the person directly in the eye. Put your hand out towards them vertically (with the thumb pointing up toward the ceiling, the pinky toward the floor). With your palm facing their palm, grasp and shake their hand firmly. Shake no longer than three seconds. This is the proper way and a call to action!
